Let's share as many wine ratings and tasting notes as we can!
What I feel is very unfair in the world of wine is the following. Today each country has about 10 wine gurus or influential sources that are publishing wine ratings.
This means that a group of no more than 100 to 500 people are influencing what millions
of wine lovers worldwide think .. ..and buy to try.
Since I started collecting tasting notes, I have gathered 290 wine ratings in less than three months. My plan is to continue at this rate and get to 1000 ratings in one year!
A friend of mine has both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator: these sources contain approx. 35.000 and 110.000 ratings respectively.
With this message, I am calling for volunteers to join this effort and form a group of amateur wine lovers, amateurs, sommeliers, who - together - provide not just a second opinion but the most complete coverage of wine ratings and tasting notes by end users (so not commercial!!).
My dream is that together we could reach the magical limit of 1.000.000 ratings - in other
words: I am looking to find 1000 people worldwide. To realize that I have an initial target
of 111 people:
Together we can beat Robert Parker ànd Wine Spectator and become the largest source of wine ratings on the planet!
Why? Very simple: Only with a large group of wine lovers can we make a more honest
and fair judgement than the opinion of single person.
I don't know how long this will take but as I'm only 19 and already such a wine fanatic I have patience and good hopes to accomplish this in a few years.
You'll find more information and an overview of all wine
lovers that have joined this project.
Therefore: let your voice be heard and enter post your ratings and tasting notes today!
